"The 10 winners of the Destination NASA-The Knowledge Challenge 2008" are all geared for their visit to the United States of America. Each of the 10 students are being accompanied by a Parent and Teacher for a 10 days USA trip (including an educational tour at NASA, Orlando).
A special flag off has been arranged for the 43 member group at the :
American Centre, New Delhi (in the presence of :
Counsul General Peter Kaestner
American Centre Director Diane Brandt
Minister Councelor for Science and Technology Dr Satish Kulkarni).
This was followed by a meeting that the students would perhaps, cherish forever.
A face-to-face sit down at the residence of the Former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on the 21st of May 2008
Dr Kalam discussed each of the students aspirations, have them ask him questions and made very valuable suggestions.
Noteworthy was him giving each of the students individual opportunity to communicate with him as a one-on-one.

New Delhi to Washington
The Destination NASA team assembles at the New Delhi International airport, for their Continental Airways flight - CO 083, to New York. Scheduled departure at 22:45. |

| Day 2 22nd May '08 |

Washington DC
They arrive at the Newark airport (04:35) and are transferred to their connecting flight to Washington DC (07:00). They shall be taken to the hotel on arrival at Washington Dulles airport (08:27). The morning is spent resting and at leisure. Lunch at an Indian restaurant is followed by another relaxed afternoon, to help get over the jetlag. Dinner is at an Indian restaurant and the overnight stay at the hotel in Washington.

Washington, Science Museum / Indian Embassy Visit
After breakfast at the hotel, they proceed for a visit to the Science Museum which engages the general public in current scientific issues that impact their lives. State-of-the-art exhibits and educational programs provide information that stimulate discussions as well as an insight into how science supports decision-making. Post lunch, the group is transferred to the Indian Embassy for their scheduled meeting; organized by Learnsmart India Pvt Ltd (24x7guru.com). After dinner, they shall proceed to the hotel in Washington for the night.
So in a short span of 2 days, the DESTINATION NASA winners and team, have been invited over a high tea and met with the members of the highest office of the US in India The Council General of the Embassy of the United States of America
and
Members of the highest office of India in the US The Indian Embassy in Washington DC.
Of course - Dr Kalams meeting being the icing on the cake !

| Day 4 24th May '08 |

Washington DC City Tour
The morning brings with it a guided city tour of Washington DC; covering the White House, Capitol Hill, Lincoln Memorial, and Supreme Court, to name a few. Lunch shall be at an Indian restaurant. Evening at leisure. After dinner they shall proceed to the hotel in Washington for the night. |

| Day 5 25th May '08 |

Washington to Orlando
After breakfast at the hotel, the team checks-out and proceeds to the airport for their flight to Cleveland departing at 10:05. They arrive at the Ohio airport (11:42) and are transferred to their connecting flight to Orlando (14:15). On arrival at Orlando(16:40), they will be greeted and transferred to their hotel by our representative. After check-in and freshening, they shall be taken to an Indian restaurant for dinner. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Orlando. |

Orlando, Seaworld
The day is dedicated to an exciting visit to Sea world. Lunch at Sea world. Return to the hotel by evening. Later, they are taken to an Indian restaurant for dinner. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Orlando. |

ATX / Epcot Centre
After breakfast the students shall proceed to Kennedy Space Centre for a full day's exciting program - ATX, along with 3 supervisors. The rest of the group shall visit Epcot Centre for the same duration.
The entire group gets together for dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Orlando. |

Full Day Disney World
A fun filled day - with unlimited access to all rides and attractions at Magic Kingdom. Lunch is at Disney World. Return to the hotel by late evening - en-route they shall halt at an Indian restaurant for dinner. Overnight at the hotel in Orlando.

Orlando to Newark
Morning is at leisure. Check out of the hotel at noon and after an Indian lunch, they proceed to the Orlando Airport for their flight to Newark departing at 15:00. On arrival at New Ark airport, they will be greeted and transferred to an Indian restaurant for dinner, before checking into their hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Newark. |

| Day 10 30th May '08 |

New York City Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, they shall check-out and proceed for a guided city tour of the Big Apple, New York. They shall visit the Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Rockefeller Centre, Statue of Liberty, and various other landmarks in the city. After lunch they are transferred to Newark Airport to board their flight back home... |
