24x7guru.com, an online diagnostic and self-assessment tool provider and Tata Sky
Ltd have partnered to offer interactive learning on television.
Making the announcement here today, Learnsmart India CEO K S Muralidhar said the
partnership would enable 24x7guru.com (launched by his company) to provide content
for Tata Sky's Active Learning, a quiz-based educational service covering Maths,
General Knowledge and Science for children in the age group of seven to 11 years.
"The questions can be easily navigated with the help of remote and the children
are also provided with correct answers and individual scores," he said.
"Partnering Tata Sky will add one more exciting medium to expand our extremely
powerful teaching tool with the potential of enhancing every aspect of the academic
curriculum. "We are confident that this new medium, which is hugely popular
with children of all ages, will motivate the students to use broadcast technology
not just to entertain themselves but also to complement their efforts to become
scholastically successful," he said.
Tata Sky Ltd Chief Marketing Officer Vikram Mehra said the company crossed the one
million subscriber mark in July this year and planned to reach 1.5 million by December
end. "It's been our constant endeavor to provide value added services to our
subscribers in the field of education and our partnership with 24x7guru.com will
only strengthen our existing offering," he said.
Learnsmart India Director Sanjeev Gupta said already 4.85 lakh students were taking
online tests and the company targeted one million students from the new partnership
with Tata Sky.
