Online learning and self-assessment solutions provider 24x7guru.com, part of Learnsmart,
has announced a joint venture with Direct-to- Home (DTH) services provider, Tata
Sky of the Tata group, to offer interactive learning programmes on the latter’s
DTH platform.
This partnership enables 24x7guru.com to provide content for Tata Sky’s Active
Learning, a quiz-based educational service that covers maths, general knowledge
and science for children in the 7-to-11 age group.
These questions can easily be navigated with the help of the remote.
Children can take part in real-time, monitor their performance, and in the process
gain knowledge.
The Chief Executive Officer of Learnsmart India, Mr K.S. Muralidhar, told newspersons
“Television can be an extremely powerful teaching tool with potential to enhance
every aspect of the academic curriculum. By harnessing the power of broadcast technologies,
parents can help children improve their learning.”
The Chief Marketing Officer of Tata Sky, Mr Vikram Mehra, said that the power of
interactivity has brought immense scope to offer a whole set of learning solutions.
India has over 120 million TV homes and TV can be used as a powerful learning medium,
he said

The Director of LearnSmart, Mr Sanjiv Gupta, said the company has announced a contest
that seeks to familiarise children with space-related issues. The company plans
to sponsor a winning child and teacher to a trip to NASA.
As part of the expansion project, Learnsmart is looking to offer online learning
solutions in other categories as well.
Since its launch about three months ago, 24x7guru.com complements the learning imparted
in schools by providing self-assessment learning through tests and contests.
